There are other concerns as well, including 99-year leasehold, future maintenance issues, houses built very close to each other in a small piece of land, etc.
Also, I think it's a wrong perception that foreigners cannot buy landed properties in Singapore. I've seen many of them who are able to do so. They just need to get approval from the authorities.
