In all likelihood, there'll be stations to serve both sides. Amber to Parkway to Marine Parade Library to the rest of the flats at Marine Terrace and Crescent stretches long enough for a few stations.Originally Posted by minority

Of cos everyone pays tax in different scale here. If the transport ministry can build more stations, by all means.
Spotted several soil testing equipments on the empty piece of land beside Temasek Primary School along Upper East Coast Road. A potential station to be developed here? Any idea?

In the final analysis.....its NOT whether you have a diploma, degree, masters OR PHD....its whether you have a HDB/PC/EC or LANDED...
One is called Marine Parade CENTRAL. The other Amber rd. From perspective of planning, one should be able to guess quite clearly where to put a station unless central means otherwise. Possible to have 2 stations so nearby too, one example would be CCL Clarke quay & Chinatown, think only about 1 minute btw start stop. Cheers.Originally Posted by electron

New site behind Victoria School and between Mandarin Gardens and Neptune Courts
It's near to possible Siglap station at Fernwood Towers junction.
Yee ha! Did I tickle your funny bone?
Soil investigation machine undergoing SI currently at Block 51 Marine Crescent. This is third time SI is being carried out at the same spot. Is it a foregone conclusion that the speculated Marine Crescent station will be located?
Can anyone enlighten us if SI means got station ?Originally Posted by tiverton18

possibly the meyer station, as previously predicted.Originally Posted by curry1295
its thought to be at katong park. i guess one fort isnt too far away. but then again, one fort is rather close to the current mountbatten mrt!![]()

Are u referring to Katong swimming complex? It is highly unlikely that there will be a station here. There is already mountbatten and dakota mrt nearby (both on the circle line) within walking distance, so i dont see the need for another station here. instead, the predicted stations will be: Tanjong Rhu - Fort Rd - Tanjong Katong South Road - Marine Parade (parkway) - Marine Terrace.Originally Posted by thomaspaine

where is tanjong katong south road?Originally Posted by clemdale24
I live around the area; most of the construction/digging work going on isn't actually Soil Investigations for the building of MRT lines/stations. Quite a lot of that was done a few months ago.
Most of the works you now see are road widening works to widen Mountbatten Road and Fort Road in anticipation of increased demand when the Sports Hub is completed and Kallang Riverside is developed.
You don't need soil testing for road widening unless it involves structures like viaducts.

Can anyone who lives in the fort road/ tanjong rhu area provide an update?
i know SI's have been seen at the park at tanjong katong road south. i personally saw as many as 3 SI machines there, one next to Aalto, another 2 next to SinAik fresh mart, which is the at the south end of the park.
A week back i saw 3 SI machines at marine parade. All 3 were in the vinicity of parc seabreeze, basically, directly across the road from the old cinema.
As for marine terrace, there were also as many as 3 SI machines there about 1 month back. they are gone now. one was outside Grand Duchess condo, another 2-3 were in and around the HDBs acorss the road, mainly block 52.
Mrt to be build in tanjong rhu area.....will prices increase
happen to see it while storing documents in my spare unit
fyi, there are 3 soil testing stations along the short stretch of bayshore road
thanks for sharing.
why do they need visual inspection? doesnt BCA have all the plans?
unless...the 3% allowable error is messing up their plans?
also need to enter individual units? hmmm, seems to be taking extra precaution after Nicoll highway collapse. want to see if there is any existing cracks.
The ERL plan is coming out soon. .Just a matter of time. Many dont believe that there will be a mrt entrance near the Amber roundabout and 1 more entrance near parkway side. So just wait and see la...as of now nobody can be certain of the exact location. But its best not to buy units that are too close to an mrt. A walking distance of at least 50 metre away from the mrt would be ideal.
Wah alot of testing at junction near parc sea breeze... something big is coming??![]()
