Build an underground train station better than a commercial building...I don't believe it will be a great commercial building. Basically, we are just lack of public transport.

the plan already indicate a petro pump just opposite the foresque guardhouse. ???Originally Posted by mastrix

If the Mall shift to opposite Foresque, it will make it more convenient, so it would be a positive point, plus the petrol station. In fact this is a more viable location for the mall than the previous option, I guess the road cutting across the canal is the issue, without the road. Without the road, the traffic flow would be a problem, so in forcing URA to realign the roads, Diary Farm loose out on the proximity to the convenience of the Mall......
Seems like Setia is launching the development next door soon, price should match Foresque....
with 2 new institute nearby more bus route will be plan and the mall will be packed with student during day time. the mall is quite small from the map.Originally Posted by danntbt
dairy farm and petir will hold another 15,000 -20,000 people when fully develops. hope to see a bigger mall with a small bus interchange. at least to transport commuters to hillview MRT.
Hopefully....and hope....a reputable developer get the site. At least build something equivalent to Katong 112, got cinema, nice restaurants, shops, etc.
The site is not that small actually, depending on the height restriction, the land size in the original plot is close to 3/4 of The Hillier/HillV2Originally Posted by mastrix
anyway better than none we are lucky enough this time. the later development on dairy farm only allows five to maximum 15 storeys.Originally Posted by mastrix

There are two schools of thought between existing and new residents. Gov don't know who to please.
....haha, no-loading Dairy Farm Road....Petir Road is Ok.......sounds like they are sweeping their self declared buffer zone clean...but nvm-lah, the commercial plot nearer to TH/FR sounds good to me.
Sounds like Dairy Farm Road is Bukit Timah Road = High Class Residential, and Petir Road is Bukit Panjang Road = HDB Residential.Originally Posted by danntbt

Sad. Very sad.
Whatever mall they want to build...die die must have Starbucks and Cinema!
and foodcourt & 24/7 clinic.
......and behind that 23-storey blocks....minus one to please the herd further behind.Originally Posted by mastrix
The residents are wary of MM developments that screwed up the landed estates and future congestion and illegal parking. Current owners of TH etc along Petir road might lose their greenery in near future.
The greeneries in front is nothing much but like shrubs anyway... those behind TH/FR/Setia dev are reserves and untouchable...but to Dairy farmers their green buffers will disappear eventually, imagine being dwarfed by 24 story blocks with modern facade.....that's why they are up in arm, ya, congestion and illegal parking would be an issue in their backyard if the Mall is not relocated....but saw quite a few prominent individuals in the dialogue with the MP, guess they do have some clouts.Originally Posted by hyenergix
HillV2 is already very small and if its 3/4 of that, then its lagi smaller leh.
But then I dun understand why the govt agree to the protest by Dairy Farm residents. It makes more sense to build a mall at Dairy Farm which is nearer Hillview station.

Actually theoretically The Foresque and Treehouse site is even nearer nature reserves...Haha. Anyway, I'm sure residents at Foresque and Treehouse won't mind the added amenities nearby (Just not sure if the shops can "survive" with small catchment there). Dairy Farm and Hillview area already served by Rail Mall, HillV2 (future) and then future MRT shops (I'm sure got retail shops at the station itself). So could be a win-win for all.

I have frens stays at almond shows sour faces when talk about TH and foresque project. don't know why people behaving this way?Originally Posted by mastrix
anyway, we pay for our house and if the resident there not happy with such development they can always choose to move out.

Car Park entrance
Almondnites and Dairy Farmers are envious of TH/FR beacause these will disappear soon....
Base of one of those 'Tree Houses' structure:
Observatory Deck where TH residents can use Telescope to spy on Dairy Farmers or hang around to be seen by the farmers who will be even more green....
Seems like the 1st sty (patio unit) is like a 2nd sty...below is carpark and the building is "lift up" from the original ground level.
...yup, those block next to Chestnut Ave are almost level with the higher ground on which the road is on.Originally Posted by mastrix
looks like sertia have to tear down the trees and bushes and make way for temporary parking lot and showroom before the launch. need months for such preparation works.
