it's not true. strictly speaking, it's your condo mngt who has a right to say what is acceptable or not if it affects the external facade. the mindset of "I'm the owner and I can do whatever I want as long as it's within my unit" is wrong. For example I say I dun like my balcony color, can I repaint it in my own color ? Of course not.
Why not? it is my house, I pay millions of $ and don't need someone else to tell me what to do with it. The mgt don't live in my house!
The truth is that most Sporean think this way. I saw many condos in Spore with ugly pink n red curtains,ugly bamboo curtains at balconies n patio (look at bloody unit 01-47
), fanciful lights, lingerie, bras hanging outside their windows.
The mgt will write them letters to warn them but most would just throw it into the dustbins. They will tell the mgt off, I pay you maintenance fees so buck off! You sue me I sue you back, if I m very rich
or don't pay maintenance if almost penniless
