I can appreacite being vegetarian coz of religious or health purposes but I find it harder to fathom if the reason for being vegetarian is to save the earth.

IMO, moderation is key regardless whether u are vegetarian, canivore, omnivore or even cannibal especially it comes to saving the earth. No point ordering portions that can feed up to 10 persons when there are only 3 persons at the table. We will just end up with loads of wastage and at lot of resources are being churned up just to process our waste. Just walk around the restaurants and hawker centers or even people's dinner table at home and it's criminal how some of us waste food.

    Well said, moderation is key.

Certain religious view on vegetarianism has relationship to saving the earth. In Buddhism, the Earth is a projection of common karmic force of living things on Earth. Killing animals (for food, for fur, for fun) generate negative karmic forces that may result in natural disaster, deterioration to environment & war. In Christianity, Genesis actually asking humans to take good care of animals. However, after the Noah incident, humans are allowed to eat meat (guess after the flood, no vegetable to eat :-)

In short, Earth will become pure land if every one of us has a pure mind. I will stop here

Lately i hv been pondering what kind of diet I should adopt. During one of my visits to my gynae, he kept preaching abt vegetarian diet is better. Ask me to cut out all meat and dairy. Then recently I had some digestive problem and went to see GI and the doc told me to cut out all fibres (grains, wheat, fruits, vege). * sigh* then what am I gonna eat? meat cannot vege cannot.

IMO, digestive problem see TCM doctor better. Recommend the specialist clinic in Changi general Hospital, the doctor's surname is Chen. Come with powder, no need to boil herbs.

I am willing to pay 10 times more if the doctor can find the root cause and cure me. Otherwise, 20SGD also is expensive.

What kind of condition cannot eat food with fibre ... IBS? Frequent abdominal pain followed by diarrhea? I studied TCM b4 so curious to know.

Yes IBS which causes a lot of gas pain and fibre will aggrevate it. My doc also mentioned that a lot of ppl hv the misconception that increasing fibre intake will help to alleviate constipation. But truth is it will make it worse. Fibre cannot be digested and it will only add bulk to your bowels. Put it simply, if your colon is already "clogged up" and you keep adding indigestible fibre to it your sh** get even bulkier and thus even harder to pass.

Ya, you are right, I think all we need is a balance diet. A good mixed of meat and vegetable and drink enough of water everyday. (not reservoir water please).

Got money can also buy some fruits to eat...

Don't anyhow buy expensive house now.

You may want to read this:

In Singapore, more common is Spleen-Liver disharmony (means stress-induced) or damp heat (means infection).

I refuse to be a flipper. I detest those agents who buy gd units themselves and then flip it to genuine home buyers. I suspect the agents are the ones who's fueling the frenzy.

Or they will be the first one burnt when the tide turns. 600psf for PES unit @ optima is very reasonable so nothing to worry.

Ya anyway its for own staying so I'm not too concerned even if bubble burst.

I think the rumor abt agents flipping gd units is quite rampant. At the optima I overheard a conversation btw 2 agents.

agent A: Think I'll be getting the 2 br unit. how abt u?
    agent B: Cannot leh....
agent A: oh ya u just bought the other one. that one confirm make money...

But Im quite glad TID went with balloting system. Fairer and more transparent. Pricelist also on wall for all to see.
