No need to quarrel ...Originally Posted by sltc
You are both correct.
Blk 51 and Blk 57 both have #10-06.
Blk 57 #10-06 1,507 SqFt $630 psf 13/10/2009 $950,000
Blk 51 #10-06 1,195 SqFt $624 psf 27/06/2008 $745,000
Thks jlrx for the clarification and east lover, apologise for my mistake. I didn't know that Tropica has #10-06 on every blk. It confused me. Tropica is indeed a nice and cosy to stay in. If you've kids planning to go to St Hildas primary school, pls note that only Blk 51 is within 1km.Originally Posted by jlrx
Also, when you drive along Tampines Ave 1 (just beside Temasek Poly). Pls keep to the speed limit. Watch out for traffic police hidding on the overhead bridge.
no problem...Originally Posted by sltc
yes, love the resort style... planning to move during school holiday.
By the way, there is a mini cafe in the club house now, selling coffee and some indonisian food. It will be even better if they can have a mini mart soon.
Can we work together for the bridge? when is AGM?

FYI the mini mart change hand many times. It was originally a mini mart but business was not good due to poor support from the residents. When I left, it was vacant for quite some time. Good to hear that there is a mini cafe now.Originally Posted by East Lover

I still have a lot of good memories in Tropica. Nioce and friendly neighbours. The excellent landscaping, wind, water and spacious car park are something which you cannot find in most other condos. When the UWC is up in 1 to 2 years time + the quarry park + new condo launch (sure higher price) at the plot of land beside Tropica , I'm sure the value will go up. Good Choice by your guys. But I have moved on to D9 now which is nearer to my work place and my children's school.Originally Posted by McKinnon
In addition to the bridge at the back gate, ask the MC to redo the main entrance to enhance it's image and make it more grand.
Enjoy the Tropica living
yes agree.
i did not know it was this nice when i bought.
tropica is one of two condos without a need to cross a road to reach the reservoir. i think the other is AQBP which is linked via a park connector?
when the 'quarrybay park' is up, i'm sure there will be a connector from the reservoir to it. so a bridge directly outside the backgate will make alot of sense.
how do we go about raising this at the agm?

Shall we ALL go? we have to raise this bridge suggestion this Wednesday, otherwise have to wait for one more year.... BTW, AQBP average is slightly higher than Tropica recently. maybe their direct access is one of the plus point... we can use it as our supporting point also :P
McKinnon, can you lead? I will go and support you!
Mr OKKO, want to join us? Any more Tropicarean here?
I have no time to focus on this sister, will try to drop an email to find out how to raise this formally. We cannot go to the AGM bang table and expect an answer lei..

I'm just afraid sending email may not gain so much attention. How about go to AGM to voice it out, then we follow up by email?
I haven't moved in but am willing to go to Tropic from work directly. you can just have you quick dinner at home then attend loh
haha.. agm is 18nov 7pm.
i nominate you for mc member, since you're so articulate.

Why not I nominate you also? so we can support & backup each other?
hi guys
I might not be able to attend since I am working like hell these days, OT has become a routine. but will see whether can get other family member to go.
But one thing is for sure. if there is a vote, my vote will be yes.
By the way, I read from newspaper, the land besides us will be released again early next year. Well, good and bad..
joking la.. it's a thankless job that you will kill me for nominating you.
i'm home around 8+ on weekdays, will see if i can rush for this agm.
okko, maybe our mc is waiting for next door plot of land to be bought and co-share w them? hope some developer buys it soon, maybe i get another unit there.

I am not very keen on that plot of land to be sold. Rather it remains a grassland.... better if it can be a new CC, supermarket, foodcourt, park instead.....
Another unit there? hmmm... I expect it to be very cram.. just look at the size of that plot of land....
oic. well it's a matter of time before it's sold since it's the last plot w reservoir view. it will pull up tropica price even more, like how the waterfront collections bunked up the ABC condos.
now condo rents are sliding drastically, fortunately rent at the tropica will be bolstered by rich UWC expat families. so vesting in a unit next door may potentially bring high rental yields.

The horseshoe layout is auspicious. It is equally good if the `mouth' of the horseshoe faces the south-side. This `mouth' is known as the Dragon-Tiger gate. In addition, it is auspicous as water flows from west to east to Sungei Bedok. The Summer Place in China was also based on this setting where the palace was built overlooking the Kun Min Lake with the hills at the north as backing.
The Tropica also shares this concept where the apartment blocks at the north side stimulate the effect of the protecting back hill ridge or `tortoise' to provide a solid backing. The water positions within the condominium and at the frontage of the site provides excellent clear space.
So I see you tomorrow at AGM?Originally Posted by McKinnon

Sure or not?
That day before AGM started, I chat with several residents outside function room. some ppl mentioned that there will be a new MRT station near Temasek Poly, and it will be walking distance to Tropica...
some even said may have station in the Query Park.
Sure or not? any inside info for this?
If MRT is so important why not buy a place with MRT? Why hope and hope? The way I see it, the area near Tropica is the fringe of Tampines and is very far flung and low density, also there is Tana Merah MRT and Tampines MRT already operating nearby, it would take lots and lots of hope for MRT station to be ever built there.Originally Posted by East Lover
no insider info, but based on soil investigations and the blueprint, the likely locations of the mrt will be here:

DT27's working name will be quarry park mrt, even though it's a reservoir away from quarrypark.

quite unlikely for the track to be routed there lo.
