Savills S'pore director to join European private bank

By UMA SHANKARI

SAVILLS analyst Ku Swee Yong will leave the property firm at the end of this year and join a European private bank as a real estate adviser, sources have told BT.

Mr Ku, who is now director of marketing and business development at Savills Singapore, will help the private bank's high net worth individuals make property investments.

The move marks Mr Ku's switch to the 'buy' side of the property business from the 'sell' side. At Savills, he is responsible for managing the company's residential sales teams.

Before joining Savills in June 2006, he was at Far East Organization, where he was the general manager of the company's representative office in Indonesia and a senior manager for property sales and regional marketing.

BT understands that with property prices falling across the region, Mr Ku believes there is opportunity on the 'buy' side of the business.

His career in real estate industry spans more than 14 years and includes sales and market development activities for companies including Singapore Airlines, HSBC Securities and Shell Chemicals.
