June 16, 2022

In the week of May 29 to June 3, RiverGate scored a psf price high for the sale of a two-bedroom apartment.

The 1,023 sq ft unit is located on the 28th floor, and was sold on June 2 for $2.88 million, setting a new psf price record for the development at $2,816. This surpasses the previous psf record price at this development, when a 1,894 sq ft, four-bedroom unit on the 32nd floor changed hands in January for $5.3 million, or $2,798 psf.

Located at Robertson Quay in prime District 9, the freehold RiverGate was completed in 2009. It has 545 freehold units across three 43-storey residential blocks. Great World City and Robertson Walk are a short walk away, while the upcoming Havelock MRT Station on the Thomson-East Coast Line is an 11-minute walk away.

The upcoming development Kopar at Newton also hit a psf price high for the week. A 614 sq ft, two-bedroom, 15th-floor apartment at Kopar at Newton was transacted on May 31 for $1.69 million, or $2,753 psf, making it the highest psf price recorded within this project. This exceeds the previous psf price of $2,719 clocked from the sale of a similar 614 sq ft, two-bedroom apartment on the 21st floor for $1.67 million on May 30.

Located along Kampong Java Road in prime District 9, Kopar at Newton is just across the road from the Newton MRT Station on the North-South and Downtown Lines, as well as the Newton Food Centre. It is just one MRT stop to Orchard Road and a 12-minute train ride to the CBD.

The developer of the 99-year leasehold, high-end project is Chip Eng Seng’s property arm, CEL Development. The 378-unit project is close to 77% sold as of June 3, and is scheduled for completion by the end of next year.

The newly completed Stirling Residences also hit a record psf price for the week, when a 441 sq ft, one-bedroom apartment on the 37th floor was sold on June 3 for $1.15 million, or $2,606 psf. In December 2021, another 441 sq ft, one-bedroom apartment on the 36th floor was sold for $1.11 million, or $2,511 psf.
