HDB resale prices climb 12.7% in 2021

THE Housing Board (HDB) resale price index rose for the seventh consecutive quarter in Q4 2021, growing 3.4 per cent from the previous quarter. This is marginally higher than the flash estimates released on Jan 3, which had indicated a 3.2 per cent increase.

Meanwhile, the year-end quarter saw the number of transactions fall to 7,940 cases, down 5.8 per cent from the 8,433 sales in Q3. Compared to the same period last year, resale transactions were 3.9 per cent higher.

For the whole year of 2021, resale prices climbed 12.7 per cent, while transactions increased by 25.3 per cent to 31,017 cases.

In February 2022, HDB plans to offer about 3,900 Build-to-Order (BTO) flats in Geylang, Kallang Whampoa, Tengah and Yishun.
