    Default The Brownstone EC

    Originated from this thread: https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/h...e-5930291.html

I'm one of the Brownstone (BS for short) resident.
Honestly I'm unhappy and tired with the balcony saga at this EC.
BS is built by the "reputable" CDL. and currently manage by Knight Frank. TOP on OCT 2017
The design of BS is one level have shorter balcony and the next level will be extended (1meter) balcony. So the shorter balcony is sheltered by the extended balcony but the extended balcony will not have any roof.
When received our key and handbook, they put the guideline for us to erect the roof. But the shorter balcony make noise to the developer and MA, so we're no longer allowed to build the roof. We need to wait for the EOGM and vote for it.
We've tried to talk to BCA,URA,MP without any fruitful result.

    Their objection:
    1. Drop of resale price.
    2. Dirty with rubbish and bird ****.
    3. Block their pool view.

    We've tried to discuss with them;

    1. Drop of resale price? Where the data, statistic,.... comes from? it's only assumption.

    2. Rubbish? it won't be any rubbish if you don't throw it. And we will pay for the maintenance and cleaning fee from our own pocket.
and we can install the openable roof (louvre roof) for cleaning

    3. Block their pool view? We can install the clear polycarbonate roof and with some sloping angle.

    Our Concern:
    1. Safety from falling object.
    2. Safety from fire as we sometimes encounter cigarette butts.
    3. Unable to use the space when it rains and hot.

I can't post the photo here, but it's really a big safety concern from us the extended balcony.
Where we capture the photo of
-big flower pot on top of shelving that with a bit of a knock will fall out of the balcony railling.
-wet mop dripping from the above neighbour
-rocks and stone, debris from rectification.
-the hot sun shine on the whole balcony
-video of rain make 100 percent of the balcony wet.

And today is the EOGM to vote for the roof.
    there are 3 options
    1. roof
    2. half length roof
    3. slanted blind attached to the railling.

we need to get 90% of vote to get our roof.
of course we won't get our 90%, same as option 2.

but can you imagine that we only to manage 60 % vote for the slanted blind
    HOW HEARTLESS ARE THEY.
we're not even allow to put the blind

I'm really tired, and sad with this neighbours.
Please think twice if you want to buy one of the unit here.
you will have some heartless neighbours.

If not, then it’s free extra space like extended patio. I would look at the bright side.

It is how you play with words during an AGM.

I told the resident if they want an increase in maintenance fee don't need to attend the AGM.
