Part 7

If cash is King, banks will not be paying you a pathetic interest rates of less than 2%.

If you park tons of cash in your bank, you will never be able to beat the inflationary rate of 3% to 4% every year.

You need to make your money work harder for you. All the billionaires on our planet are valued according to their hard assets like business or properties...no single one is valued on the amount of cash they stored in their banks.

The reason is simple. The hard assets generated income stream or security towards their personal wealth.

Take for example, a Singapore property far surpass any property on Earth due to one single characteristic: Security ( Social, political and natural stability) .

No one can say any other property on Earth has this trait beside Singapore.

That is why I always advise my younger peers, get your first property immediately after you start working. Stay with your parents and rent out that property. Or use this strategy: always get a unit with one extra room. For example :

1) If you are single, get a 2 bedders.
2) Married with no kid, get a 3 bedders.
3) stay with your parents and rent out your own property.

Even if you stay in a studio, you can always partition a space out to rent. Our studio here is 500sqft. In Tokyo it is 100sqft.
That means you can get a squarish layout studio and partition it to become a 2 bedders.

Why do I ask you to grab a property?

See, if you put $1million cash into the bank now, how much do they pay you after a year ? $10,000 ?

How much is that a month ? $800 ? What an insult ! That is the salary of a cleaner they reward you for putting a million into the banks.

Buy a property now, then rent out a room of your property and get at least a thousand a month now !

If you rent out a typical 3 bedders, even in ulu area of Singapore, you would get $2500 a month in return. That is many times the interest the banks are giving you.

If you do not quickly grab a property now..the inflationary pressure of 3 or more percent a year will erode the value of your cash in the banks

Bank Interest 2% minus Inflation 4% Equals your cash deposit is losing value at 2% every year without you spending a single cent of it. The larger deposit you have, the more you will lose after a few years.

This inflationary trend will continue for a long time to come.
