Hi,

Last week there seemed to be a blockage somewhere in the piping system of our condo. I had sewage water coming up through the drains in my kitchen floor and at the same time my downstairs neighbors' pipe (located between his concrete ceiling and false ceiling) began to leak and destroyed his false ceiling. That pipe is coming down through his concrete ceiling, but the concrete is not wet and the leaking clearly happened within his premises. The blockage most likely happened within this leaking piece of pipe, and the extended exposure to water made it leak.

The neighbor got a quote of 2k for the repair and is expecting me to pay it partially.

I agree that I am fully responsible if the seepage occurs within the concrete slab that is his ceiling and my floor, but since this pipe is inside of my neighbors unit I don't think I need to pay anything.

Who is right? Thank you for your opinions.
