AVA and BCA to relocate to JEM

SINGAPORE: The Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority (AVA) and the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) will soon be moving from their current office at Maxwell Road to JEM at Jurong Gateway Road, said the two agencies in a joint media release on Friday (Dec 12).

The AVA will start operating at its new location next Monday (Dec 15), which is the same day it will change its general enquiry line to 6805-2992.

The BCA will start operations at JEM the following Monday (Dec 22), but will not change its mainline (1800-3425-222).

At JEM, both agencies will operate a shared Customer Service Centre at Level 6 of the building.

This is the start of the congestion at JLD as infrastructure is not properly planned for. Roads and trains will start to be more crowded from Monday onwards. Worst when school resumes in jan. Saw KBW crossing traffic light with bodyguard behind two days ago. If URA is not moving, he who leads MND will not move out.

Thats exactly the reason why I say that more people will start moving to the west, and AVA and BCA is only the beginning of many big migration of jobs from central region to the West.

the last time I check, Orchard Road apartment has already hit $5000psf and its located at the busiest and largest traffic junction in Singapore and its congested almost 7 days a week, more so on saturday and sunday. And yes, people there are moving too
