Default 'Cost of living a concern' for young Singaporeans

    http://www.straitstimes.com/breaking...reans-20140116

What do young Singaporeans hope for their country in the next five years?

An affordable place to live in, a society that defines success beyond academic and material achievements, and jobs that offer a better work-life balance.

These were some of the findings of a new poll done by Singapore Polytechnic students, which aimed to find out about the aspirations of young Singaporeans.

Altogether, 825 people aged 15 to 35 took part in the survey, which was conducted face to face over three weeks last June. The respondents were representative of Singapore's youth population.

I fully agree. Restaurants, cars are a necessity. With my pay, how to afford?

An affordable place to live in,
means cheap properties, cheap cars/public transport, cheap food, cheap restaurants, cheap everything...?

a society that defines success beyond academic and material achievements, and jobs that offer a better work-life balance.
means if you are a cleaners or security guards or retail girls or cashiers etc, you just need to work 8 hours a day and 5 days a week, and earn the pay of a university graduates or even more (to have better work-life balance without academic achievements)?
May be free transport, free medical care, free lots of things so that don't need material achievements?
