    Default Budget 2014 Suggestions

    1. Re-balance some of the weapon purchase fund to pay NS Avaia life insurance premiums - human is the most important factor to win any battle;
    2. Use budget surplus to pay MediShield Life premium for citizens aged 90 and above - no one should die at age 95 by jumping the floors.

    I have rephrased Suggestion 2 as the following:

    2. Use budget surplus to pay MediShield Life premium for citizens aged 90 and above - the amount will be small, the impact will be huge: everyone could get old one day.

    Please have your say directly to Reach or whatever effective channel, otherwise middle class will be the worst hit.
    PwC is already suggesting taking away the "one time" income tax rebate of S$2k - the only useful tax incentive for middle class in last year's budget.

    Coverage age at 70 is more meaningful.

    At current rate of MediShild, the premium cost between 70 to 90 is about S$20K per person.

    Well, I am very happy with the 4-5% return on CPF. So I am indeed using cash to contribute to my wife's CPF account.

    But anyway, there are countries allowing different ages of pension withdrawal - the earlier you withdraw, the lower monthly money you will get.

    I believe Singapore will eventually evolve into having more options.
