General Motors (GM) on Wednesday announced that it would be relocating its consolidated international operations headquarters from Shanghai, China, to Singapore in 2014.
GM will have about 120 CIO employees located at its headquarters in Singapore when it opens in the second quarter of next year at a location still to be determined.
These include representatives from GM's regional sales and marketing, product planning, finance, government relations, human resources, IT, legal and communications functions.
The new headquarters will oversee key parts of the company's business in Asean, Korea, India, Australia and New Zealand, Africa and the Middle East, as well as Chevrolet and Cadillac Europe.
