Default How to make best use your roof terrace

I have seen some project's penthouses come with roof terrace without any bedroom. I wonder has anyone bought this type of penthouse and how to make use of these roof terraces? Anyone care to share?

I think you can put up those 'temporary giant umbrellas'-styled shelters, but depends on how much u wana spend la...

Also certain MCST have strict by laws and may not approve some items that may 'marr' their external facade/image of the developments etc etc.

I think as long as u dun overdo it.. shdb ok laaaa

4 walls and a roof and a door is definitely not permitted ...

however ... you can have a proper roof ... 4 pillars ... and use heavy canvas ... and a thick plastic sheet that's movable ... like those in super market cold room ... you then add aircon ... and its good as a room ...

mcst cant disallow cos theres no permanent walls or doors...

What about retractable awning (canvas type)? Any restriction in size? Let's say the size is 3 m X 2.2 m?

it all depends on your MCST even if it is within BCA restrictions.

it is pointless to discuss it over here.

Discuss with your MCST to find out what is allowed.

Don't think all project will allow that. If your neighbours or mgt is stricter, they won't allow you to build fixed structure.
