I really doubt short term SIBOR rates will go up as what market is expecting.
However, i do expect long term rates (2 years and above) to go up a lot more as it already have.

This is because i dont expect Central banks in Asia to hike rates as what the market is expecting.

If i am right, those on Sibor floating packages will benefit a lot more than those who enter into 2 and 3 year fixed, for the next years

this is the era that we have prolong low interest rate than expected. last time no qe, now with qe and with economic woes going in circle, low interest rate is here to stay. most economies are experiencing the low interest rate environment as what japan has been experiencing....
US is not turning around soon, then followed by europe which is also in downturn, need to spend more in future to create jobs, and china turn now that will affect globally. japan and asean is quite ok i hope as domestic demand is pushing to limits as mid income level continue to grow...

so, given a choice, i would still choose floating with no penalty to switch.

    see the two attachements
3month sibor's move is miniscule compared to the 3 year singapore interest rate..

i.e the costs of fixed rate packages have gone up a lot more than floating
most market watchers think that Sibor will go up a lot...

    i beg to differ
