    Brudder mm, it has been shrinking right from 1994/5 when I first bot my first investment property Anchorage....

    a 3 bedroom is 1506sq ft....

    In 2006, a three bedroom is 1200sq ft

    today, a 3 bedroom is 900 sq ft....

    Every time I visit the showroom, I get shock after shock... But this is the new paradigm... And we need to embrace it.... Same goes to HDB.... My first hdb in Bishan was 1100sq (4 room).... today

    It is no surprise in large city. My first experience was in central London many years ago as a student.

    I think it is a matter of time we will end up like Hong Kong. Singapore is only that "BIG". How much can we build. Already everywhere near my place already turning from green to brown patches for construction for recent years. For sure weather will be hotter and hotter. Sigh...

    this shrinkage is most pronounced in mass market condos targeting hdb upgraders. Luxury grade condos are still maintaining respectable sizes overall.

    Well, actually some ang mo have good life in singapore

    Have you all been or visited some of the black and white bungalows owned by government... The land is super big like 20,000 to 30,000 sq ft of land, really big garden space with swimming pool and those attap hut shade, BBQ area, so amazing and so out of this world.... U feel like u r living r in a farm house with that sort of open space and yet 5-10 min to orchard road/town... So shiok.. Rental about 14-15k...if got chance, must experienced it....

    yup. thats mine pt. the argument of 30% shrinkage is limited to OCR is baseless. coz . CCR there are also such shrinkage in size. looks at the studio in River Edge? and compare to other studio build today in D9? also smaller wat.

    There is nothing to do with OCR or CCR in general size are getting more compact.

    They should sell HDB flat based on $PSF, and not based on room size because a 5-room HDB flat has shrunk from 14xx sqft to 10xx sqft while a 4-room HDB flat has shrunk 11xx sqft to 8xx sqft.

    So, an old 4-room HDB flat can be bigger than a much newer 5-room HDB flat! So, how can still use number of rooms to determine HDB resale flats prices?

    in the future if 1 bedder is smaller den 300sqft, wat will they call them? dwarf units?
