Default Bernanke-san says use of Viagra must continue

Chairman Ben Bernanke is telling Congress that the U.S. job market remains weak and that it is too soon for the Federal Reserve to end its extraordinary stimulus programs.

USA and Japan will never cease printing. Even the next Fed Chief takes over, they will not stop printing.

    Very simple logic here:

    US$=US debts=US growth =Japan Yen = Japan growth= US$

And who is buying US debts now?

And who is holding the most US$ reserve now?

There can only be one solution to break this cycle. This solution will emerge 60 years later.

Nikkei Widens Losses to 6% in Volatile Trade

Japan's Nikkei, together with the rest of regional stock indices, fell sharply on Thursday after a preliminary survey of China's manufacturing sector raised alarm bells while fears grew that the U.S. Federal Reserve may withdraw its bond buying sooner than expected.

Worries about China's growth returned after HSBC's latest China's flash PMI slipped below the boom-and-bust level of 50 for the first time in seven months.

The dismal data saw Japan's benchmark index tank over 6 percent after hitting a fresh five-and-half-year highs earlier in the session.
"It doesn't matter the asset class, traders are out to play today in a big way, with the Nikkei trading in a 997 point or 6 percent range! It's been an incredible move, and anyone wanting to see a full-scale liquidation of a hugely over crowded trade will use this as textbook," said Chris Weston, market strategist at IG in a note.

This is what I thought so. STI should also correct. Sometime it is good to cool down and take a rest.
As for China, I think the problem is investors are not trusting the reports so this is why they have not pick up steam.

I still maintain hold (and don't buy) for this year ... I think Dow could end pretty flat in 2013 btn 14-15k only .....

BOSTON (Reuters) - The average 401(k) retirement balance for U.S. workers hit a record high of $80,900 in the first quarter, a growth spurt of 75 percent since the stock market's nadir in March 2009, Fidelity Investments said on Thursday based on a survey of its accounts.
Most of the recovery is linked to a stock market rally that has lifted the broad S&P 500 Index 145 percent since the close of trading on March 9, 2009.

Bernanke-san is the Master of manipulation ... he will let retirees to have a chance to sell off stocks to be able to retire ... so he will hold the stock market at this level, nothing more nothing less

what's the time frame you're looking at?

i am thinking we will see S&P crossing 2000 in 2 to 3 years time.

AT least B-san's small gesture is looking after the retirees. For us, we get the increased minimum sum (MS), and postphoned retirement to a later unknown date. Goalpost again shifted. Price of peace and being able to walk out safely in the streets in the middle of the night. How many like to walk around in the streets in the middle of the night ? LOL

    It's not confirmed.
And the most annoying mkt is the Nikkei imagine, seriously, if you were to manage a real position on Nikkei.
A few decades later as you said, ppl will study the market of this period with great interest. Many textbook theories must have been rewritten by then.

Japanese Market Plunges Overnight, And Then Futures Make Major Surge On New Rumor

The craziness in the Japanese market continues. Today has been another wild day.
In Thursday trading, the Nikkei collapsed another 5%. You might quibble with the terminology, but basically Japan has been crashing, as it fell 7% last Thursday, and has been very weak since then. Of course, this comes following an incredible surged that started last autumn, as Japan has embarked on a shock treatment course of monetary stimulus known as "Abenomics" which has enjuiced the stock market and caused the yen to dive.
So things had been plunging today, and then in the last hour, Japan has gone vertical, with futures surging about 400 points.
The culprit? A Reuters report about Japan's big pension fund being able to move into equities. Previously it had just been in JGBs (Japanese Government Bonds)

I believe this bull run will last for quite a long while...
S&P should cross 2000 in 2-3 years time as you said. I believe there is still more upside after that. However, stocks never go up in a straight line, expect a lot of turbulence along the way and throw many people down before going up again, and many people will be frustrated for getting off the train too early.........................
