Woodlands EC 2.3 times subscribed

By ng zhuo yang

TWIN Fountains, the first executive condominium (EC) launched in Woodlands since 2005, pulled in 963 e-applications for its 418 units by the close of the application process on Sunday evening.

This made the development by Frasers Centrepoint and Lum Chang 2.3 times subscribed.

First-time buyers accounted for around a third of the applications received, and second-time buyers, the rest.

Frasers Centrepoint Homes chief executive officer Cheang Kok Kheong said: "We are encouraged by the strong response as it goes to show that there is indeed pent-up demand for EC homes in Woodlands, especially from upgraders."

The project sits between the Woodlands and Admiralty MRT stations and is an eight-minute walk from the upcoming Woodlands South MRT station, which is on the Thomson Line.

The development is also near the Seletar, Tampines and upcoming North-South expressways.

Mr Cheang attributed the robust subscription rate to the attractiveness of the project's location, the track record of its joint developers and "the innovative units and concepts available".

Homes at Twin Fountains range from two-bedroom suites to three- and four-bedroom units.

In addition, there are 104 intergeneration homes, also known as dual- key units, specially for multi-generational families who want to live under one roof.

In line with its provision for intergenerational living, the EC will have a "Fountain Villa" amid its full suite of facilities. This villa will be available for residents' use as a venue for private functions or to house visiting guests.

Twin Fountains is expected to receive its Temporary Occupation Permit in October 2016.

Frasers Centrepoint and Lum Chang said that successful applicants have been issued an acknowledgement letter and a registration number via e-mail. They will be able to book their units at the showflat on May 11.
