A man was charged in a district court on Tuesday with 72 counts of cheating timeshare consumers of a total of $1 million.

Zamri Zainal, 34, is claiming trial to cheating the victims into believing that Great Eastern Trust and Asset Management would take over their timeshare interest in various companies and dishonestly induced them to deliver money to Axial Management.

Each of them was allegedly deceived of sums ranging from $5,750 to $30,000 in 2007 and 2008.

The timeshare companies included Club Emperor, Concept Vacation Club and Viva Le Concierge Club.

2 years ago I was invited to a company which operates in #25-05 OCBC building.
They promised a free tablet if you attend their afternoon talk which they eventually gave but it was not useful as it was not sensitive to touch at all.

They used hard sell tactics and said we must sign up on that day itself to enjoy privileges. We are not allowed to go back home to think about it.

I did not sign up for it.
Later I found out on some websites.
Don't know whether it is the same company or not but the address is the same.

Looks like the same, you are lucky that you didn't sign up.

Mine was invited by one of the banks, if I remember correctly I think it is citibank. We went to Ngee Ann City to attend the seminar and in return, they offered us either $200 shopping vouchers or 1 day hotel stay in KL. So far, I have enjoyed those resorts and hotels that I had booked thru' my club.

Besides membership fees, do you still need to pay the maintenance fees?
I paid around US$12k for my 49 yrs membership fees (supposed to pay by instalments but if paid in full, I will have a discount of US$918) and in addition, I still need to pay the maintenance fees annually (approx US$400, it varies every year). I was thinking of withdrawing, wonder whether will I be able to take back my non-used membership fees or not?

IRN had maintenance fees and RCI access.

But later paid a sum to convert to pure ATC no more maintenance nor RCI.

Membership think is 60-80 per annum.
