Not only bus drivers, construction workers will also demand higher wages. This is what we worry about. Next year indonesia workers will also see a double digit wage increase. In the west where wages are contracting, we are increasing. This imported excess liquidity has finally trickle down to the lowest level of the society. When the lowest class of workers get a significant wage increase it will remain at that level. Its not like banking jobs where u can retrenched according to the level of demand. Low end jobs is the absolute necessity. Any increase to the low end job salaries will change the whole economic landscape forever.

TIPS ETF Hits All-Time High as Inflation Trumps Treasury Bonds

The largest exchange traded fund tracking TIPS rallied to a fresh record high Thursday with bond investors positioning for inflation as central banks continue monetary easing and stimulus measures.

The iShares Barclays Treasury Inflation Protected Securities Bond Fund (TIP) has posted a total return of 8% this year and holds nearly $23 billion in assets.

Bears in this forum keep quoting all kind of bad news but never pay attention to TIP

    For example now 1sgd = 8.000 rupiah
    After re nomination 1sgd = 8 rupiah
We can kiss goodbye cheap produce from Indonesia

We have to be aware many countries are no longer willing to sell goods at cheap price anymore because their own domestic demand is growing. They rather sell domestically than exporting overseas. Sg with total dependent on overseas import will see drastic changes in our cost structure.

Property price in sg will go higher. Now still can buy. Y?
Because have u seen property price crash when stock is still not at crazy level? Stocks are still not high compare with 2007. Have u ever seen property crash when US interest rate is so low? US stock market has not recover yet if it recovers all property prices will cheong further.

Put it the other way... Do you dare to sell now that the price so high?
I don't think I can sleep at night thinking about the low interest rate on my saving, constant threat of inflation, loan limitation going against my age and property prices creeping up again.

The DOW was at its peak at 13,090 in 2007 and was at 13,074 last night posting higher than pre-Lehman crisis in Sep 2008. Why? Why? Why? Something is not quite right?

If you have a few properties, it may make sense to sell one and reduce the loans for the others. In this way, you balance out if market goes either way.

    Reasons of not selling:

    1. MM Lee said never sell HDB, it was up 5x, 10x, 15x, 20x, next time it will be up 5x, 10x, 20x too

    2. Next time u buy back hit by ABSD

    3. Gold up from $400 to $1700, property still underperforming

    4. Next time you buy hit by loan restriction

    5. Might as well leave it to your children

    6. The profit not enough to buy peanuts

... the list goes on ...

That is provided you have the power to hold regardless of where the market heads.

Not many people are like you.

It is up to the individual to trust this one man. Investment is about spreading out your risks.

Bro, to me there is no right or wrong in investment... It is all about risk appetite... The verdict will only be known at a later date... and only when u encash out... As long as you are holding on to the investment, it is all paper..

But if the paper can give you nice ROI, then it is another topic altogether.
