Developers' Oct home sales down from Sept

Developers sold 1,948 private homes, excluding exective condos (ECs), in October 2012, down 25.7 per cent from the 2,621 units they sold in the preceding month.

However, the October sales figure was 39.9 per cent higher than the 1,392 units sold by developers a year ago.

These figures were released by Urban Redevelopment Authority on Thursday, Nov 15.

Developers sold 676 ECs - which are a hybrid of public and private housing - in October, compared with 150 such units sold in the preceding month.

Inclusive of ECs, developers' home sales totalled 2,624 units in October 2012, down 5.3 per cent from September's 2,771 units, but still 59.7 per cent above the 1,643 units they sold a year ago.

In terms of launches, developers released 1,633 private homes excluding ECs last month, down from 2,224 in the preceding month. Including ECs, 2,410 units were launched in October 2012, up from the previous month's figure of 2,224 units.
