14 can also be interpreted as "SURE RISE" in Cantonese..
    So nothing to worry about.

all else being equal, i will take 1211 cos it is cheaper (even if by a bit) and you move away from your concerns about this number.

if it is between 1411 or 1811, then i will take 1411 cos it is cheaper as investment unit. but for own stay, i will go for 1811 cos it is higher (though more expensive) and therefore better view (unless you look into another building's rooftop).

Bro at the end of the day it's just a number to make one feel more comfortable with. Does it mean that if you get #07-11 you have to open your doors 24 by 7?

    In mandarin 54 sounds like wo3 shi3 (I die)

    Anyway I will not touch anything with 4.. ESP 4,14, 24, 44, 74, 84..

It is very subjective and personal.

If there is a choice, i will choose 15th floor instead of 14th floor and 5th floor instead of 4th floor for new project launches.

It is more tricky when comes to resale market. You may come across a beautiful and reasonably priced unit with great views on the 14th floor.

For me, I 1000% avoid. UNLESS it is cheap...

When u sell the unit in future, u actuall narrow your customer base. Those who want to buy will try to nock down the price. So it important to buy on the cheap.

When your house unit is say 18-08 or 08-08, when u ask high price, there will be this auspicious group of people who will pay a premium for this number.

Did any of u bid for the car plate number?

    Same theory.....

But of course if u buy to stay forever and ever and numbers don't impact u psychologically, then buying any number is no issue.

The unit number affects certain group of people. I had a unit 14-14 before and it was rented out. First to German, then to mainland Chinese. No issue at all. Later sold to another local who paid record psf for this unit.

    Highest floor is #15.

I went to view a repossesed car a few years back and the no was 1818. So what happened? My colleague was sad when he found out that his new car's no plate was 4224 but 2 months later struck $600k in 4D for the same number. This was 10 years back.

I am amazed that we allow numbers to rule our lives.

Tenants do not bother about unit nos. So for investment go ahead and get your 14-14 or 44-44 or whatever.

I was told by an agt that buyers fo porpeties in prime areas do not bother with nos as much as those buying in suburban areas. I guess the background, class and education levels matter a lot.

In another 20 yrs times very few Singaporeans will bother about nos.

Bro, when everything is fine and dandy, a condo on the 2nd floor facing rubbish bin and heavy traffic also can sell.... More buyers than sellers.

When times are bad, this is the true litmus test. Buyers have tons of choices..

So if you think short term, no prob.... But in times of emergency during bad times, good luck...

Of course there will always be differing views. Thats what makes life so exciting.

Bro, the plate was 'transferred' to u. U better thank him. Get his plate in future to 'transfer' to your kids.

If not, u can ask him to sell to me since 'no use'.

This number 4 thingy is very funny that people want to avoid.
