Support at 2.22 and resistance at 2.38

    Avoid

Better to go in when price is above 50MA

Btw : why want to buy OUE ?
    1) Theme ?
    2) Sexy story ?
    3) Laggard ?
    4) Dividends ?

So far for this counter, there is no vibe
you need vibe to move the counter
It was a laggard for sometime, I thought it stabilized after a long period of lows. Given a discount of 30% and recent listing of REITs, I was forward looking for an old time stock. Previously last year or earlier, I bought 40 lots at $2.26, it cheong to highest of $3.20; nevertheless I sold at around $2.74 and made a little profit. One thing I notice, it didn't really take a high volume transaction to bring up the price, sometimes a volume of 100+ lots can rallied the stock up by 3-4cts. It was true, even my broker find this counter a bit 'slow'.
The other counter was Guocoleisure, bought at $0.56 at low, unfortunately traded away at $0.66, even privatization was already in the air, and now was $0.97. Was a slow counter as well. Sold somehow too early

    Hi Violinbite

    Basically I trade using chart

One of the tool which has served me very well is the MA
it has helps me to time my entry and exit

You mentioned you bought OUE at 2.26 (July 2012 period)

    if you notice back then

The price was above 50MA (up trending)
    other observation

    MA13 crossed MA50
    Higher highs and higher lows
Moving up from a beautiful trough from a breakaway island

    Hi Simi,

Thanks so much for your sharing. I wish I could be better at technical analysis... so far, I can only do a buy and hold with very basic fundamental understanding. It looks like you guys will always be ahead of time with much profit and limited loss. And indeed I m really bad at cutting losses.
Do you use a particular software to do analysis and must you spend $$ on the learning the trade of TA? Is it time consuming? How far and effective can TA shield against a major correction?
So sorry for the newbie questions

Be careful of "sell in May and go away" ... my take is Dow/S&P500 will correct but towards the year end will bounce back near unchanged

No harm reduce long stock position a bit .. bond yield movement last night quite disturbing

    Hi Bro Phantom

    For short term is ok

Look out for Job Report to propel the market to New High

After all the S&P hourly chart is now showing a beautiful Inverted SHS

In a Bull market a not so bad report is consider a good
In a Bear market a not so good report is consider a bad

U.S. adds 288,000 jobs; jobless rate falls to 6.3%

watch Jobless Rate at 6% and below
Interest rate may starts to rise

headline looks very good but stock futures hardly moving (but bond yield recovered) ... now market thinks there is 56% chance Fed will raise rate in June 2015

The contracts show markets are assigning a roughly 56 chance of a first Fed rate hike in June 2015, based on CME FedWatch, which tracks rate hike expectations using its Fed funds futures contracts. Before the report, they showed traders gave a first rate hike in June 2015 only about a 47 percent chance, and that they thought the Fed was much more likely to wait until July to raise rates.

Look like US market is getting abit tired. Even with such good jobless data don't even move. Sell in May might be near.

Despite opening in green and closed in red

    Bulls are still in control

Unless 1865 ~ 1870 violated then we might see a reversal in trend and Bears take over

    Having said that
Market is clearly in the distribution phase

    Nothing is certain!
Since today is Monday, looking at the stars, I predict it Dow will close flat or up slightly instead!

RUT 200dMA gone ... so wait for "pull away" from 200dMA with volume to confirm .. if performance of Groupon or Twitter is any guide I think better short than long

Big Cap still "tong" ... distribution phase as one contributor here put it

Bond yield continues to surprise, 10y SGS yield at 2.317% ... spike? what spike

    Verdict: stay on the sidelines
