But they are implicated in some big market swings, including a “flash crash” on May 6, 2010 that caused wild swings on the Dow and another in April 2013, in which a false tweet sent markets reeling.

I witnessed the Flash Crash of 2010, 1st hand

DJ crashed more than a 1000points within minutes !!!
Whole market was stunned as small queue buyers were thrown at unbelievable level all the way down.
Then suddenly NO BUYER at all the level

When real buyers stepped in, it was followed through selling by PANIC sellers (sell first talk later attitude)...............the rest history.................

Stocks r not recommended to keep for too long. Unlike property can keep for 10yrs or more. Stocks if not making profit will drop like a rock.
SIA, SMRT, apple, nokia, creative tech, Noble, Olam... etc.
Anyway sti is already like an old man, up very slow but drop very fast. Last time u buy $10 and above stock each bid is $0.10. Now u buy only $0.01. Hopeless liao.

Regardless of whatever they do, there is no denying fact that the company is significantly leveraged compared to other listed companies, and when interest rate goes up, such companies may be affected much more adversely than others. Avoid!

ya, not advisable to even think about shorting against temasek related stock or during this flat market.
