anytime a central bank announce a liquidity injection, the shorts get squeezed. the last ones to short gets squeezed the hardest.

the last 4 days chart seems to indicate that money is flowing back to the market, so i will like to bet that at least a short term rally is on the way : ) hope to earn some kopi money these few days while waiting for the 50% drop in property prices ;p

The US Presidential Election is on Nov 6. Ben and the Obama's Administration will ensure that things look good going forward. From now till Nov 6, there is not likely to have any major hard policy that make the US people even poorer. There are hints of some easing when Ben meets today Eastern time. The markets were just reacting to the expected.
