Mount-E Novena suites ready for patients from early July

By Nisha Ramchandani

MORE than 100 specialists who have snapped up medical office suites at Parkway Pantai's $2 billion Mount Elizabeth Novena hospital will be open for business when the complex is launched in early July.

The 333-bed facility, which recently received its temporary occupation permit from the Building & Construction Authority ahead of schedule, will be the group's fourth hospital in Singapore.

A wholly owned subsidiary of IHH Healthcare Berhad (IHH), Parkway Pantai also operates Gleneagles Hospital, Mount Elizabeth Hospital and Parkway East Hospital.

Meanwhile, the remaining 70 specialists who have also purchased suites are set to move in by the end of this year.

"One hundred per cent of (the suites) available for sale have been taken up by medical specialists," said Parkway Pantai group chief executive officer and managing director Tan See Leng, noting that demand has been robust.

Mount Elizabeth Novena has a total of 254 medical suites, with more than 80 per cent put up for sale and the remainder kept aside for Parkway Pantai's own use. The last transacted price of the medical suites worked out to $5,088 per square foot.

The largest of Parkway Pantai's four hospitals in Singapore, the 14-storey complex features 37 deluxe wards, eight VIP rooms, three suites and 13 operating theatres.

Some 180 beds will be ready for use from July and the rest in the second half of 2013.

"The decision to focus on single-bed-only wards has been driven by the proven high demand at our other hospitals in Singapore, in particular from wealthy domestic patients and premium medical travellers," added Dr Tan.

"The opening of Mount Elizabeth Novena ensures that we are well positioned to address their growing needs and expectations with the highest standards of care and service."
