For ground floor unit, I wonder can we request for more trees around the unit for privacy reason? Where can we lodge the request?

your development's MC??
What is MC?
Mine is a condo.

OIC.
Will they normally oblige to such request? Anyone has experience before?
You prob need to check with your neighbours upstairs in case the tree blocks your view. There are those big rectangular pots that you can plant shrubs, and I think they should be sufficient to increase privacy.Originally Posted by pinkpolkadot
If you like bamboo, you can put one row around the patio.
It will be very nice.
Do we have to plant it or the condo's management committee will plant it?Originally Posted by PN

There are two choices
1. plant it yourself in the patio
2. ask the condo mgt to plant, but there is this overall landscape and cost issue. Once they do for u, they will need to address all such requests in future.
Look like, u hv to do it yourself
I mean inside your patio. So you have to buy yourself. Got nothing to do with the MC.Originally Posted by pinkpolkadot
How many bamboo pots you need depends on how much privacy you want.
Which means that you also need to maintain them also.
Bamboo is a good idea. Is it easy to maintain?Originally Posted by PN
oh ya forgot you may have your own patio. as long as it is within your unit, it is fine. just don't plant an angsana tree.
from the looks of your question, i assume you were referring to planting stuff outside of your apartment
Ya actually I was asking for more trees to plant outside of my patio. It is not TOP yet. There will be an access path in front of patio so I thought of requesting for more trees to be planted for more privacy.
not TOP yet??! er.....seriously........
From the model and brochure it does not seem to have sufficient trees along the patio. So I thought I check it out to get a better idea.
Amusing, thanks,
I had a hearty laugh
I know it sounds prematured. But there is nothing wrong to be prudent to plan ahead.
First year is under the developer before the formation of MCST
and most likely, they will not entertain u.
so DIY

Is there a basement below your front patio. If there is... you'll have a problem. If it not designed with enough soil depth for a tree. There's no chance.
another ground floor lover...
That's right....as it is, there is no safety implication or design flaw..... more costs to the developer and no benefit why would they do it?Originally Posted by Laguna
The best way to get the trees planted where you want them is to worm your way into the MC and table them as a landscaping upgrade.
That was what a resident did in one of my condos. That selfish(but smart) bugger snucked it into one of the MC meeting's agenda and somehow got it approved. Nobody noticed that the "upgrade" would favour mainly(if not only) his unit.
I imagine it wouldn't be difficult as there are more pressing issues in a meeting and a lanscaping "upgrade" would get a pass easily as nobody pays much attention to them.

Actually I am not asking for much. In the overall map layout there are trees drawn along the access road, but I wonder will it actually turn out to be that way. You know, developer always cover their ass with "disclaimer", or "artistis impression" ....
You can always plant a seed, then you will eventually get a tree that is almost free and naturally.
