Preview targeted early June. Showflat is located at The Gateway along Beach Road.
is the showflat ready now?Originally Posted by latour
friend on lookout told me this will be on preview launch today and tomorrow, after it was postponed 2 weeks ago. earlier rumours that units have been prebooked by staff - dun know if true or not?
let's see the response, esp now that loan period has been extended to 50 years!!!
Roadshow at raffles place outside sing land tower has been going on since last week. Not much hype drummed up.. Maybe that's why preview launch has been delayed.
Agents seem quite bored although there were a few super enthu ones pushing sales earlier on. Not sure if they manage to garner any strong interest though.
Anyway read that the cheapest unit in quantum (should be the 450sqft studio) is below 1mil.. So price dont seem overly aggressive.
V on Shenton - site accident a while ago, crane collapsed with a loud bang and nearby buildings can feel it and hear it. Hope nobody is injured.

my paper
Friday, Aug 03, 2012 One worker was injured in a construction-site accident at 5 Shenton Way yesterday, resulting in two road lanes being closed, said the Building and Construction Authority (BCA).
A 20m by 30m portion of a partially demolished multi-storey carpark next to the UIC Building collapsed during the demolition process at 4.40pm.
RELATED STORIES
The worker was taken to Singapore General Hospital, said the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF). It was not known exactly how he was hurt, but an SGH spokesman told my paper that the worker is in his 50s and suffered chest injuries. His condition is stable as of press time and he is conscious.
Eighteen other workers in the area were unhurt. They were accounted for after two search operations, the SCDF added.
The closure of the two lanes was to prevent debris from affecting motorists. This was on top of structural reinforcements to portions of the carpark to ensure it did not collapse further, said the BCA. It said that the 39-storey UIC Building, also due for demolition, was not affected by yesterday's accident.
The site is believed to be where V On Shenton, a 99-year leasehold condominium, will be developed. The developer is UIC Investments (Properties).
The Ministry of Manpower, which has issued a stop-work order, said the collapse could have been caused by "accumulated debris against the rear of the building".
BCA has revoked the site's permit for demolition works. Investigations are ongoing.
This pic... where the bottom part with the reinforcement steel wires sticking out... reminds me of the Shanghai condo collapse.
A sign - impending CRASH
i reckon all the hype n excitement have come down alot lately for new launches regardless of location..Originally Posted by Vincegoh

True, smaller units going for $2500 psf if I'm not wrong. I didnt enquire as I was only interested in the 2+1. For 1,100 sqf, $1800 psf, I believe can makan. i really miss the days when The Sail was below $1k psf, although I have to round a few kakis and my boss then to agree to bulk purchase before they allow us to enter the sales office at all.Originally Posted by phantom_opera
ch 8 news just reported 180 of 230 launched units sold.
Shenton Way prime properties also flying off the shelves eh?
How is this compared to Soleil @ Sinaran? Both about same psf but Soleil is freehold
SOLEIL @ SINARAN SINARAN DRIVE Condominium 1 2,010,000 1,098 Strata 1,831psf Jun-12
SOLEIL @ SINARAN SINARAN DRIVE Condominium 1 1,820,000 936 Strata 1,943psf May-12

Soleil is not freehold.
oops ... sorry ... my mistake ... it is 99LH ... that makes it more comparable to V on ShentonOriginally Posted by august

depends on the price rite? this project is indeed attractively priced. but with 500+ units in total, still some way to go yet with the score at only 180 now.

From my personal experiences, ppty near to hospitals (eg those targeted at the rich indos like Mt E) tend to attract a lot of short term tenants. Often times, they are sick and moves around on wheel chair, not a very pleasant sight imo. I can't bring myself to make money from these people. So to me, Soleil might end up like those condos near to Mt E.Originally Posted by kane
Secondly, at the same price as Shenton V but at Novena area, I would think Shenton, being at the heart of financial district, should command some premium.
Another proj to consider would be the plot jointly developed between Singapore and Malaysia. But not sure when will it be launched
Thanks for your comment. I guess nobody will want to stay at Soleil during SARS period. Another factor is proximity to good schools, this one Shenton Way cannot beat Novena area.Originally Posted by HP65
But I agree, if both 99LH, from pure investment perspective, Shenton Way has more potential especially if it is MM.
