A new study shows that about 30% of HDB households in Punggol have a monthly income of $9,000 or more.

This is four percentage points higher than the national average compared with other HDB estates.

And property developers believe this shows Punggol has potential for private residential development.

Pasir Ris has the highest number with 35% of HDB households with monthly incomes above $9,000.

Looks like I got better memory...

Actually, assuming those chaps are not savvy stock investors, what would you recommend to invest for that group?

Some hibernate a while only get itchy finger syndrome, must click a mouse, call a broker or sign some option papers.

I'm no money guru but I think foreign currency fixed deposit like AUD and NZD gives good yield about 5 to 6% a year. If you are in it for the long haul, you'll quite quickly see the power of compound. But patience is the key

Aud and nzd are at pretty lofty levels. The depreciation of principal could wipe out the yields.

Agree there is some risk. I'm vested in NZD for about 8 to 9 years. There have been fluctuations but the last few months have been quite steady. Before the 2009 financial crisis, they were paying 8.8% p.a. Now is just under 5%. Still quite decent by most measures.
