The Straits Times understands that 11 more units have been sold at UOL Group's 577-unit Archipelago project in Bedok since the measures were introduced. About 200 people visited the show-flat over the weekend.
This brings the total sales at the five-storey, 99-year leasehold development to about 120 units since the project was previewed at the start of this month. Prices were not reduced but held at an average of about $1,000 per sq ft.
None of the buyers has decided against exercising options as yet.
when lift reaches the top floor, there are always people eager to squeeze in there

Just returned from the archipelago.
I am smitten by the project and the surroundings.
Perhaps becoz I like Bedok Reservoir and its greenery.
I did not buy lah..... cannot .....not now.
Just shopping around for next time.
Learnt from the agent that today is the last day of the preview and tha the official launch will be on 5 jan 2012.
Btw, the agent said the project is 700m from the future MRT station.
Also 10 of the strata semiDs have been sold and 8 of them bought by the same person- a foreigner !
Maybe the foreigner wanted convenience when he collected rental.just go door to door like collecting news paper money.
buy cluster hse for yield ?Originally Posted by kane

The agent said that there will be a side gate at the west end of the project for accessibility to the MRT station which will be at the industrial park.

See map from LTA:
Actually its not too bad. There should be shelter once u reach the HDB opposite the gate, all the way to the MRT. Did a actual walk to the likely MRT site thru the HDB, about 10mins walk.Originally Posted by buttercarp
Just have to shelter yourself from your unit to the gate and cross the road.
Was keen on this project but at this price 买不下。
10 min is walkable but guaranteed to spoil make-up and make the dress stick to your back when you reach the MRT. I can't imagine when the hot period of May-July is here. Taking MRT is not a breeze these days.
Regardless of the walking distance, any above 500m I will take a feeder bus. Do u realize it only costs me $0.03 for my feeder bus before I take my MRT because it's distance based fare now?
It now makes sense to live two to three busstops away from MRT station. Wait till bomb threat , train breakdown with crowded, roudy people around at your place.
Have been telling people the whole idea of having a PC right on top of MRT is overblown and overshot.
Lol! Very true! Somemore LV / Chanel/ birkins so heavy!!!Originally Posted by hyenergix

Midges are once again proving a nuisance at Bedok Reservoir - a year after they first 'bugged' residents there.
Since last week, residents and shopkeepers have once again had to swat away swarms of these tiny green and blue flies.
The insects, known scientifically as Chironomidae, do not bite or carry diseases but that is hardly a consolation for residents.
They told The Straits Times that the midges typically plague the vicinity in January and February, making daily activities inconvenient.
Yah, a lot of my friends/colleagues who stay near to the reservoir also complain that they are always pested by insects, esp during the evenings...Originally Posted by azeoprop
So far the midges have not flown to my place yet .
Last night when I was at Bedok Reservoir Sheng Siong, no midges there.
Last year I remembered it was quite bad.
The midges followed me into my car after doing my grocery.
Can midges reach high floor e.g. 8th floor and above?

They can take lift.Originally Posted by phantom_opera

Imagine bitten by them then kena premature aging like that old SBC drama Mi Li Ye - Butterfly story.
Probably need to be above 15 floor to be safe?

TCS should come out with the story of bedok reservoir... Due to the Sun's super solar flare in 2012, the radiation caused the midges to be mutated and they need to suck human blood to lay eggs. However the mutation would transfer to those who kena bitten. This mutation caused victims to drink human blood in order to survive, some victims could not bear to do it, so choose to end their lives in bedok reservoir. But they did not know that the larvae of the midges feed on the bodies to become super powerful and deadly....Now its up to our TCS heros to save Singapore from a disaster.
