URA provisional permission for several projects

A STRING of interesting projects across Singapore bagged provisional permission from the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) in the second quarter.

In the Central Business District, a Tuan Sing unit received provisional permission for an office/shopping development on Robinson Road comprising 23,530 square metres (about 253,275 sq ft) gross floor area of offices and 380 sq m of shop space.

This is on the site currently occupied by the group's 13-storey Robinson Towers, its Annex building, and the 13-storey International Factors Building next door. URA's provisional permission (PP) was granted in June.

Oxley Consortium Pte Ltd, too, clinched PP to redevelop The Corporate Office, also on Robinson Road, into a new project that will comprise 12,280 sq m of offices and 2,770 sq m of shops.

Resorts World at Sentosa Pte Ltd won approval to develop 210 hotel rooms and 210 sq m of shop space in the west zone of its namesake integrated resort.

A tie-up between CapitaLand Residential Singapore and CapitaMalls Asia won PP in April for its project in Bedok. This will comprise a 35,560 sq m mall and a 620-unit condo.

Several other projects on sites sold under the Government Land Sales (GLS) Programme, too, clinched URA's PP in the April-June period.

These include a private condo project near Bedok Reservoir by UOL Group and Singapore Land that will have 530 apartments and 28 strata semi-detached homes. The 479-unit Boathouse Residences condo project at Upper Serangoon View also bagged PP in the second quarter.

Keppel Land clinched URA's provisional permission to develop a 622-unit condo at Sengkang Square.

Far East Organization group received PP in May for its 724-unit EuHabitat project at Jalan Eunos.

In the industrial property segment, CEL Pasir Panjang clinched URA's PP for a flatted factory project on Pasir Panjang Road (12,560 sq m gross floor area) in June. URA also granted PP in the same month to Ascendas Land (Singapore) to build a 28,080 sq m flatted factory project on Paya Lebar Road. In May, URA approved Novelty Department Store's application for a flatted industrial project on Howard Road.

Halliburton Far East bagged PP to develop a single-user factory at Tuas South Avenue 12/Tuas South Avenue 7.

An application by HTSG as trustee for AIMS AMP Capital Industrial Reit for a 107,720 sq m warehouse development at Gul Way was granted PP in June.

The Housing and Development Board received PP in the second quarter to develop a 13,780 sq m project, Kaki Bukit Autohub, at Kaki Bukit Avenue 2/Kaki Bukit Road 2.
