did tharman listen to this SDP speaker and promise not to increase GST??? wenqing please verify??
It is because of elections PAP made this statement but with conditions.

Provided Budget is enough and cost of government did not increase.

So Opposition presence is the reason.

It is amazing. Wonder how was Sitoh's rally last nite? Good response like CST?

Quote from Tan Kin Lian's rally speech at NSP:

To do this job well, the elected MP should be prepared to spend sufficient time in your
community. There are many capable people who are willing to work full time for the MP
allowance of $15,000. You do not need a government scholar or a top corporate manager to be
your MP. You only need an educated person who is honest, interested to serve the people,
have a heart and ears and is able to think independently. Do you agree?
Examples of a good MP are Mr. Chiam See Tong and Mr. Low Thia Khiang. They spent time in
interacting with their constituents and do what they can to assist them in solving their
problems. The earned the respect and support of their constituents and were re-elected
    continuously on many elections.
There are many candidates who are passionate, interested to serve you and are willing to take
the job of being a MP as their primary or full time job. You can hear their speeches at the
election rallies or on Youtube videos. Listen to them and make your judgment.

Sands profit margin in Singapore operations comes in below expectations.

This hints that the casino success story is still shaky. Not the roaring success it was hoped to be.

Funny that PM said sorry now but 2 years back he said its an honest mistake, let's move on... Hmmm.... Dont feel the sincerity. More like kana forced to say coz its election... or am i over-sensitive.
Then again at least he apologized... better than not apologizing!!!

Any idea which constituency has the largest number of voters? Probably the result of the voting will only be released late into sunday morning. Think SMC will be announced first...

    Political analysts are right.

This is the most polarised elections Singapore ever had.

Friends, families, colleagues etc are all split.

It is PAP + Grassroots + NTUC + PAP activists vs Singaporeans.

I will not call it emotion stirring.

This was how LKY and PAP came into power which is people's popular support and adulation.

WP did not have chartered buses, free food, free drinks and goodie bags like PAP rally but Singaporeans still gave full house for all WP rallies on their own.

This is call popularity, passion, interest, support, adulation etc.

PAP got NTUC, Grassroots and PAP activists.

    WP got only Singaporeans.

Aren't PAP activists also Singaporeans? PAP also only got Singaporeans who will decide if they can continue in power!!!
