Another 3 firms reserve space in MBFC Tower 3

By LYNN KAN

LAW firm WongPartnership is one of three new confirmed tenants in Tower 3 of Marina Bay Financial Centre (MBFC) and will occupy about 93,000 square feet, or three floors of office space.

When Tower 3 is completed in the first quarter of 2012, financial information services company McGraw- Hill and law firm Ashurst will also move into the building.

In total, the three new tenants have reserved about 145,000 sq ft of Grade A office space in Tower 3 - a 46-storey building with 1.3 million sq ft of space.

The asset manager of MBFC, Raffles Quay Asset Management (RQAM), said the 145,000 sq ft secured puts MBFC's pre-commitment level to over 66 per cent from 55 per cent six months ago.

The anchor tenant of Tower 3 is DBS Group, which has leased 700,000 sq ft for its headquarters. Its banking hall and auditorium will occupy 55,000 sq ft of the space.

Towers 1 and 2 in MBFC's first phase were fully leased ahead of completion.

RQAM said that tenants have started moving into Tower 1. It reported that out of the 29 floors in Tower 1, '25 are fully functional and operational, and the remaining four floors will be gradually occupied over the next few weeks'.

Said Wilson Kwong, chief executive officer of RQAM: 'MBFC's strategic location and premium quality, as well as its portfolio of prestigious tenants, ensure that it is well positioned to benefit from the strengthening of the office market.'

MBFC's retail component Marina Bay Link Mall has also reported strong leasing performance, with 92 per cent of the space offered under phase one leased out since the release in November, an earlier BT report said.

Retail space from Marina Bay Link Mall's second phase - which has not been released - comprises three storeys, or 82,200 sq ft of space in MBFC's Tower 3.
