I am still rather surprised many are not aware of the big pollution problem in Punggol, SengKang and all the way to Pasir Ris. Residents living in these places are complaining like hell bout the problem but our govt is trying like hell to sell flats in punggol and sengkang. to anyone interested to buy these areas, i suggest you do a few things before you make your decision:

1) Climb up to the top floor of a flat that gives you unblocked view of the malaysian coastline where the factories and chimneys are located so you get better idea of the source of pollution in the area. Bear in mind that it is 24/7 that the flares are burning.

2) drive up to punggol jetty at night and take a good smell of the pollutant so that you can identify the smell as coming from the source (that is if you can even get out of your car with that smell)

3) Spend 1 week travelling to the 3 places morning, afternoon and night and sniff the air thoroughly everywhere u go and you will find that the smell is everywhere.

**Note that even if the smell is not visible to your nose, the pollutant can still be in your body .

If wat u say is of concern, then all those staying near jurong island area
must be evacuated immediately. There are lots of refineries, chemical plants, etc of all sort in jurong island over there & nearer to mainland. How about those working in Jurong Island? No need to go to pungol, senkang, night, day, morning to smell.
U should go and find out what kind of plant in Jurong & u get what I mean.
Just step into jurong iland anytime 24/7 no need to wait for season of the day and u will realise how ignorant u are. Go now.

No true lah, based on the PSI data, the West & North areas' PSI are usually really worst in Singapore while central area always much much better. May be the tall buildings already blocked most of those pollutants or they have already been inhaled mostly by those living close by so that by the time it reaches central not so bad already. :p
I am really surprised that the PSI data in the North area is so bad! The North means Woodlands, Sembawang?

Then they should charge a fee for "air filtering" service. :scared-5:

They are already given incentives by being able to buy their properties at much cheaper price mah. :D
Just like those people get free drugs for being the 'guinea pigs'. :p

All these are small matters when compare with the smoking areas in the two casinos:not-worthy: .
