Minton is getting alot of attention nowadays, tat is good for its publicity.... I dont mind I get my key later in feb, near CNY, can have celebration there.... I suggest the developer put up Christmas deco and CNY deco, and treat us for a Christmas party, for the long wait to top! Cheers!!

Anyone has any news of how Minton is coming along? Haven't got time to go down and take a look, but have all sorts of phantom smses from agents stating that TOP is ready. Is it true?
No official word of TOP, so its all guesswork in the meantime.

Its rather normal to wait as they have to get the local authorities to complete the final inspection before TOP. I waited 6 months to get my keys for Livia! :doh:
Dear home owners of The Minton, over the past few months I have consolidated a number of Interior Designers and Home Improvement businesses to provide better deals for us home owners. It is also possible to organize a group buy with them to strike a even better deal.
I have been trying to reach Condo Singapore for sticky threads so everyone can benefit from the site. However I have yet to get a respond so meanwhile I can only post in individual threads.
It would be great if you guys can input what other products/services you are keen so I can look for the relevant businesses and see what they can offer.

Was helping my relative to scout for 2 bedders here. Notice on property guru there are several adverts for sale of 2 bedder with 614 sqft. To unassuming potential buyers, they'll be smoked... 614 sqft is actually a 1 bedder floor area... bad agents.... misrepresent only to get attention and phone calls...
There are only 3 sizes for normal 2 bedders here. 936sqft, 980sqft and 990sqft. :)

Omg key collection is so late!!!
From May 13 Mothers' day gift to my mom became June 13 Father's Day gift to my dad... And for a while, it seemed that Xmas gift was likely.... Now I am not even sure I can promise a gift comes May/Jun 14, after factoring in the renovation period. Faint. :(
My old folks thought CNY 2013 shall be the last in that old home. Looks like CNY 2014 is still in that old home. Haiz... Anyone managed to convince KL of an earlier key collection date?

For period, TOP to collection of key, property tax should be bear by developer. You pay first then get lawyer to claim back from developer.
I have done this for my industrial properties so believe is the same for residential.

It's an ideal dwelling place for family with car given it's gotten well rounded and extensive recreational infrastructure, but definitely not optimal for expats who prefer to stay near to mrt with private and quiet environment. I talked to a few colleagues about Minton. The first response they got is wow, so many units, it must be noisy, specially at weekends!

Erm, this project was fully sold and the showflat demolished long time ago. You can view actual units for sale or rent from agents with keys on hand. :)

Yes, terrible workmanship and many defects. The main con is china qing jian so dont think one should expect too much. But surprisingly the developer kheng leong which is supposed to be a top notch quality developer can allow such low standard. Great dissapointment for many.

Never buy a kheng leong product anymore. As for qing jian or other china developer / contractors, needless to say.
Imagine you buy a toyota camry but comes with defective air con, leaking windows, engine shut down midway through.... open your glove compartment looking for user manual and realise oooops, made in china batch. Cant even save the good name of the make (toyota).

Maybe give them some time to rectify the defects. Maybe only selected units affected.
this project is registered for BCA quality mark. unlikely to have serious or major defects

Most have to do with poor workmanship, for e.g., the floor laminates are soaked with water, cracks on wall, etc. But I must qualify that I only heard about it for some attacks: others were ok.
so much wood on the out door decks.. wonder over time the maintenance of these decks will be expensive?

I thought there should be a clause in the T&Cs that after TOP the keys should be handled over by a certain period, otherwise the developer should compensate right? Is there such a thing? Its nearly 6 mths since Minton TOP right?

Know of quite a number of people who switched to buy commercial and industrial properties after government implemented property cooling measures for residential properties, now many under-water and/or stuck, no genuine buyer and for the very few buyers around they are only willing to offer "chop-head" price........
Also have friends who bought/owned landed properties and wanting to sell recently after price start to fall, again no genuine buyer and for the very few buyers around they are only willing to offer "chop-head" price........

See, there is residential property cooling measures, hence example OCR private apartment rental only like $2.50 psf.
But there is no commercial property cooling measures, hence example OCR mall shops rental can be more than $30.00 psf !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That is shop space rental can be 12 times that of residential property rental!
No wonder average small businesses cannot survived!

I am currently hunting for a resale condo and found The Minton project quite ideal in terms of the layout and affordability. However, during my viewing, i noticed the exterior wall of the concrete blocks, most of them if not all, appeared massive cracks. And this observation extends to the balconies of all the units i have visited. The agent told me the wall crack is very normal in SG due to the weather, nevertheless, it reflects a big red flag of quality defects in my head. Could anyone here share any thoughts on this? Are the cracks merely minor defects caused by painting or more concerns should be raised on major construction quality? thank you very much in advance.

Yeh, that bothers me a bit, it only TOP 3 years but the project maintenance looks pretty bad
