During the 1st 2 days of preview there was an extra 2% discount from those prices. I was there but was undecided...bought about 2 months later so 2% flew away. :(

Hi Azeoprop, from the latest picture taken by u on sky terrace, it appears there is a doorway access from the adjacent block to the sky terrace on the 5th floor, is that right?

I'm not too sure about that, its hidden from view. But I guess you should be able to access the terrace from the 2 blocks adjoining it.

What we can see for now is a dedicated lift shaft in the middle of the terrace.

Quite different leh...HDB can change paint, but cannot change DNA. Concrete is concrete, glass is glass...facade wise..

Anyway, this one under opposition ward, dunno when HDB will get repainted. Or repented liao....hahaha.

the red brick curve block looks much nicer retaining it's red brick colour. maybe only the blocks on the other side but like fclim say, glass facade and concrete facade isn't quite the same.

I think the HDB flats should be painted similar colour to minton so that it will blend nicely, it looks a bit obiang like that, can we appeal to the town council on that?

Omg. If I were town council, my straight answer is no. Would Minton want to paint itself to blend in with the HDBs instead? Or is Minton's sinking fund gonna finance the re-painting fees of the surrounding HDBs? Faint.

I think the white coverings can be removed after the window installation. Perhaps it's simply a protective cover to prevent scratches to the windows.

The 1755 sqft 4 bedders were selling at $1.5mil for high floors, not $1.75mil. The 1991 sq ft penthouses were selling for $1.75 mil.

The psf of minton has been rising wen near the top.......but tis rse is not the same for all top projects, last year wen I sold caspian, it rises to about $1150 psf and then stop there, this one seems to be looking for a baseline, and haven't reach it yet, despite 1000+ units, I can see tat the number of units for sale is also very few....people are simply not selling!

Thanks....after I bought, I recommend Minton to 4 of my friends/colleagues, only one bought after doing a recee of the distance btw Nex and Minton.....the other 3 are a stock broker, a first-timer young couple and a cash-rich investor....reasons are 1) are u sure is a good buy, I dont want to get caught like a stock crash? 2) don't want to commit to a big loan bfo marry, 3) my husband want freehold condo only....now see who has the last laughs😆

Don't think their price vary much from launch till late 2012. I bought in mid 2012 and I think the price don't vary much..

Yup. I bought in 2011, right after the CM. The prices were still around the same as when launched in July 2010. Many people were saying crazy, price will drop, so many units, not near MRT etc. But at $850 psf when others in the neighbourhood were going for at least $1K psf, I couldn't resist. Anyway, I bought the 4 bedder, 1755 sq ft for own stay. I wanted a quiet place and my wife wanted a separate balcony for laundry.

I actually did the recce and walked from Minton to the Serangoon MRT before I bought. It is not really far. About 800m and took me 10 mins. Sure, it is not a covered walkway to the MRT, but I figured that it is an interchange MRT, so that little bit of inconvenience is ok. You really have 2 MRT stations instead of just one, if you think about it. Anyway, they have a shuttle bus for two years and with the number of residents in Minton, I am quite confident there is enough demand to continue the shuttle service after 2 years.

Minton is one of the last few projects with huge living spaces and decent separation/vista between the blocks. You will not have ppl staring down at you when you watch TV in the living room.

Yup..48 to 50m, except the stacks facing the heated pool. Minton is quite fortunate to be able to complete in a relatively short time. Construction industry is facing a severe manpower shortage and future projects may not be that fast.

I will not stop here, i know people of my age and tose older are cash rich and asset rich, and feel lost with too much $$ in the banks, so the game will still continue with the new development, KL to Singapore fast rail, build more mrt, more like integrated shopping living development, ....the measures only give me time to accumulate more cash for my kids who are still in secondary schools, cheers!

Does anyone knows what should be the expected rental for 2Br in the Minton? I checked on Property Guru, average asking rental for 2Br in Minton is $3,200, but for nearby Scala and Kovan Residences, average is $4,500 (even though their unit size is much smaller than Minton). Why the big difference, because of promity to MRT? :doh:

they compare us to their 1st or 2nd tier city....and its cheap.....

as long as it can reach by MRT.....its consider city centre....

and i go on asking him....why dun u pick iskandar property....its cheaper...

he told me over there property "got price but no demand "

I find Minton condo so much spacious and privacy than most of the new condos, and the conservancy charges also very low , with many units sharing....and the deco also of a class, especially with the sky bridge, heated pool, badminton court, child care centre......can't find any nowadays....not to mention the convenience to Nex shopping, ....just hope top come faster..
Foresee some post TOP problems for such a huge project. Handing/taking over of keys, defects submission etc could be quite messy. Security issues as well. Other than that, it could be the best project in singapore by far in terms of the range of facilities.

Is it possible to walk or take a bus to Kovan center/MRT?
Realized that none of the bus stop in front of Minton goes there.
Kovan is like seems so near, but yet not reachable.

If I am not mistaken, Qingjian was appointed the main contractor.

very nice landscaping and generous spacings between stacks .. patio units are excellent.. unlike several condos nowadays, so cramped that the swimming pool is built right up to your patio, and it becomes a 'selling point' ...

I didnt buy it, you are right.
For condos, i only bought/buy prime
Minton has never been on my list.
A pretty ok area to live in i would think.

Even now would prefer to buy a resale one for $1700psf in prime then Minton.
Just commenting becos i recently pass by Minton a few times.

But buying to stay and for investments are two quite different things encompassing different considerations.

As long as we're happy with the purchase, just look forward.
For now i have recently liquidated my investment property.
Not waiting for the onslaught so that i can assess the situation with a clean slate

Been in the market for 14years, and always prefer to lead than to follow.
But am no flipper, just a value investor.
