one agent advertised Tanglin ... when i called up he said Orange grove ..
go to propertyguru ..
you can surely find an advert of a far away district no matter what District you specify
actually i find dairy farm and chestnut area good for retirement .. nice , serene , tranquil area

i drove by the site.. iirc is around petir and chestnut ave, totally forest and greens, close to zhenghua park (where a murder took place... funny i remember such things lol)... nowhere near to the downtown line mrt

whats funnier is i live in the city ..when i always yearn to be in the country side
better to stay near D18 as changi airport, east coast all nearby.

i think if one drives then it can be quite nice to live in an area with some exclusivity (means not next to hdbs) that has lots of greens e.g. bt timah. Cashew is quite a nice area in this manner, in fact this also extends to the often neglected stretch at rail mall and hume ave as they r not really too far from city.
city living is more for the buzz, energy, and convenience.. but one can also be made to feel a little "hectic" perhaps bcos of the lights traffic and all.

There are only 2 cities in the WORLD with a significant unspoilt primary rainforest. One is Johannesburg and another in Singapore - Upper Bukit Timah :) Would be interesting to see the pricing. Not near any large HDB estates may be negative point as there is no strong "upgrader" demand. But this has never been a truly "mass market" area so market positioning would be interesting.

Oh no... another "buy east coast and D18" thread when people are discussing other localities.... There are other lovely areas in Singapore :) Explore!
better to stay near D18 as changi airport, east coast all nearby.
