Hi everyone. Am new to this forum. My reason for joining this forum was to get up to date information with regards to the property scene in Singapore and hopefully that will help me in making the correct decision when i am ready to jump into the property market. However, after reading for 2 days, I am not sure whether I can fulfill this objective.
Of course there are some good general comments about the property market frm some participants and some property agent participants that provide good information on new developments and launches. All these contribute to the usefulness of the forum to people like me.
However, there are others participants who are quite 'boh liao' in their comments. Maybe this is their means to kill off time which I do not begrudge them. And yet there are others that see this forum as a farming ground to get to know beautiful young property agents, to the extend of checking out their facebooks. I think this is really uncalled for. We are in this forum to discuss and exchange ideas with regards to property and issues relating to property, not to chase after skirts. There are other forums for that purpose and we should bear in mind our objectives for being in this forum
This is just my 2 cents worth of comments and hopefully can help to contribute to usefulness of the forum. I apologise if I have offended anyone with my comments. Cheers. Loy

hmm.. i've been here long enough, but i never felt people here were chasing skirts. if you read some of the well established users' postings, you really get very good analysis.

Well, different people come here for different needs. The fact that you see a myriad of behaviours and postings without any being banned etc means this is a truly FREE SPEECH forum - isn't that good? ;)

Agreed. a forum is a place for interaction .
You can treat it as friends discussing about properties but will sometimes diverge into other topics of interests..

Don't tell me you talk to your friends about shares and you demand they talk to you about shares only and should not give bo-liao comments or bring up other topics of interests.

The more you read (and participate) in this forum, the wiser you should get. Open your mind .. listen to the so-called so proclaimed "hu liao" and those being branded and labelled "bo liao". Sometime the labelled "bo liao" one are truly the wiser one you so take heed of. All who take part here have their agenda and objectives (like agents and investors/ speculators etc). There are also those of the kaypo kaypo type .. they can provide the balance view of things. One more thing you should learn .. don't always hope to hear good thing and screen out bad thing ..the truth is in always the negative. Lastly if everyone is thinking in the same way, obviously, someone is not thinking at all. :D

Totally agree... I think for a forum to continue surviving, i.e. it provides useful information for readers, should avoid flaming anyone, but just stop at constructive criticism which is good anyway.

Have seen too many a forum die just because it choked full of nonsense and non-stop flaming.

Wikipedia

It is already common in Hong Kong for 4th floors not to exist; there is no requirement by the Buildings Department for numbering other than that it being "made in a logical order." A total of 42 intermediate floor numbers are omitted from 39 Conduit Road: those missing include 14, 24, 34, 64, all floors between 40 and 59; the floor number which follows 68 is 88.

Wow ... this building is even more extreme than 39 Conduit Road.

Don't know this building will get Hong Kong authority's approval or not?

The Democratic Party accused the developer of misleading the public; Albert Ho, its chairman, said "..This is a classic incident to show how powerful big developers are in Hong Kong."The Consumer Council recognised the accepted common practice of skipping the 13th and 14th floors, but suggested that developers "imaginary heights brought back to earth." Henderson said that the floor numbers omitted are in line with information in sales brochures and were not inconsistent with the approved building plans and the occupation permit. Its chairman, Lee Shau-kee, said "buyers like those numbers and we aren't cheating them."

How come poor Property_Owner now stay on the 1st floor. Don't know got view or not?
