My advice.

1. Get surveyor to estimate the value.
2. Get engineer to survey structure.
3. Get legal to vet through garzette.

A simple 3phase power cable could give you nightmare of your life.

Is this advice applicable to conservation hses only, or for all landed in general? Apologies. I just bought a corner terrace at Siglap, so I am quite clueless as well.

Generally it applied to all landed but depending on the age and are you the first owner. For heritage garzetted property, the restriction to any modification or collective sale is worse than common en-bloc deal.

Pal, just remember, start will government issue first. (Any enroachment to public area, near to power DB or sewage pipe, future planning, etc)This is available from garzatte. Then get the building plan from BCA or get specifications from developer if you are buying from them.

Also, you must your terrace is strata-title (Like condo) or land title.

But again, since you buy already my advise is don't bother so much.
