talk to your agent ...
ask him to find a replacement tenant, at the same rental .. to take over your unit .. otherwise you have to pay full or top up if the replacement is lower than what you paying now ..

theres nothing you can do .. unless you leave the country lor ... and DONT come back ..

a contract is a legal agreement .. what would you do if you have a unit thats rented out and the tenant wants to move out ? you would lose rental income, you have to find new tenant, maybe at lower rent , etc etc .. pay agent fee ...

exit clauses .. if you have .. chances are ..its for cases where tenants are repatriated , retrenched, seconded, etc ..

if you continue to be employed here in spore .. its impossible to exercise that clause .

is there fine prints in your tenancy agreement ?

My tenancy agreement does not has a exit clause (other than those for retrenched or return to country). Also very curious what would be the case to terminate contract early. Understanding from friends and some research on the web, it seems that the party terminating the contract early need to compensate the remaining months or an amount that both party agrees on. Any comment on this ? :confused:

different contracts have different terms. some contracts can be terminated upon notice with or without forfeiture of deposit. it depends on what the parties negotiated for. I believe the TS does not have such a clause in place that is why he is in a fix. Best way to do it is come to amicable agreement and some form of compensation to landlord (eg forfeiture of deposit).

It all depends on the condition stated for the exit clause and if there are none, good luck.
