Four agencies to handle sale of 250 unsold HDB flats
THE Housing and Development Board (HDB) is releasing 250 unsold five-room and executive flats for sale on the open market through four housing agencies with immediate effect.
The flats, located in Jurong West, Sengkang, Bukit Merah, Geylang and other towns, will be gradually released in small numbers over the next one year.
A HDB press statement yesterday said that the 250 flats are those which have remained unsold after repeated offers to public applicants under HDB's sale exercises.
The flats will be pegged to full market value as determined by professional valuers. As the flats will be offered as resale flats, they will be available to a wider pool of potential buyers such as singles who meet eligibility criteria and high income households.
Buyers will be subject to the same terms and conditions as other resale flat transactions, including the ethnic integration policy. For instance, the five-room flats in Sengkang, Bukit Merah and Geylang are only available for sale to non-Chinese buyers.
The four housing agencies appointed to sell the flats are Elix Realty for executive flats at Jurong West; RH Housing Agency for five-room and executive flats at Sengkang N1; CT1 Realty for executive flats at Sengkang N1 and N2; and Bernard Valuers & Real Estate Consultants for five-room flats at Bukit Merah, Geylang and other towns.
HDB says those keen to buy the flats can deal directly with the appointed agencies, all of which are not allowed to collect any commission from buyers.
