IWG opens Regus centre in Balestier

SINGAPORE (EDGEPROP) - Flex and office space provider IWG has opened a new 10,328 sq ft Regus centre at Hiap Hoe Building at Zhongshan Park in Balestier. The space spans two floors and will accommodate 154 workstations and 49 private office suites.
This brings IWG’s total number of co-working locations in Singapore to 26 across four brands: Regus, Signature, Spaces and No 18. Prior to the space at Hiap Hoe Building, the latest Regus to open was at Plus Building at 20 Cecil Street last October. “Across Singapore’s CBD and residential neighbourhoods like Balestier, we continue to see strong momentum for hybrid working,” said Darren Rogers, country manager for IWG in Singapore.
The Regus at Balestier will be IWG’s eighth location outside the CBD. The city fringe location is near the office, retail and medical hub at Novena and also a short distance from the CBD and Orchard Road.
IWG says the number of visits to its co-working locations in the city fringe increased by 20% from December to January when the Singapore government eased its default work-from-home stance at the beginning of the year. IWG believes that it is tapping into the growing appeal of flexible workspaces closer to home. It has announced plans to add up to 1,000 locations to its global network of flex office spaces in 2022.
