There cannot be too many of us around who do not know that interest rates are expected to rise, but it is a bit harder to work out what the next step should be.

No one outside United States Federal Reserve chair Janet Yellen quite knows when the hit will come but the first increase could land as early as next year.

Sure. They may raise in 2015. They may also delay till 2016.

When they do. They may also raise it only by 0.5% in 2017, and 0.5% in 2018.

Werther, my last purchase of property was 2012.....

I already have enough of properties and am vested in other instruments...

I am looking at a 2 bedder in panorama for future retirement home when my kids get married and move out. I will no longer need a 4 bedder to stay.

When u invest, u must be prepared to pay school fees... You must be prepared for the worst. If you are not, you cannot sleep well... You must also read and analyse a lot.

As each year passes, the risk of properties get higher if you look short term...

For me, the rental from the properties are helping me accumulate more money on top of my savings from salary..

Wish you all the best👍

Buy when

1. You can pay the mortgage very month. (44K)
2. You can get your tenants to pay on your behalf.
3. You have excess cash in the bank not earning interest more than inflation.
4. You have children and you want to give them a head start.
5. You present property value is more than you have brought (cash out)

Interest high or low if the above is still true go and buy, why wait for durian to drop when you can buy one and enjoy it.
