hi folks,

Am in a situations where my previously owned staled business got sued by ACRA for not striking off the company. :doh:The court has issued a summon of 12k. We want to appeal but the court has asked us to pay up the fine first. Am wondering if i should pay the fine first? Because i assumed once i make the payment, is gone. I can't take a single cents back. But if i don't pay back, i can submit the appeal.
Anyone has experience such a case before? Any suggestions or advise what i can do to have lighter sentense? :scared-3:

what is the offence? not holding AGM or not filing annual return?

who are the directors? I'm curious why not striking off is an offence?

If you have the funds, just pay and take it a lesson learnt, though in comparison an expensive one if you have maintain timely annual filing, or paying for some professional advice what to do with your ''dormant'' (not stale) company, you won't end up with now a 12k fine.

Previously I have a lengthy legal entanglement with a bank, the amount of legal fees, time costs, and personal losses were more huge than the 12k fine you stated. and now if any bank see me, its only wise of them to run faster than ghosts; I guess they have realized not to antagonize any penniless man on the street.

For you, I suggest you just pay and let it go, don't waste your time and more costs trying to appeal, becos the legal costs and your time is surely worth more than 12k fine. Good luck!

IMHO, better to consult a lawyer for advice rather wasting time here to seek for answer :cheers1:.....Court matter no joke...:scared-4:!
