IPOH: An escaped 300kg cow created havoc in the city when it ran wild and knocked into a group of Singaporean tourists, injuring one of them today.

In the 3.30pm incident, the cow which was slated to be slaughtered for the Aidil Adha sacrifice on Tuesday but escaped from a slaughter house in Falim here two days, was seen at Jalan Raja Muda Aziz.
Eyewitness A. Maekaldas, 33, said the cow knocked into a group of tourists who were eating by the roadside, before side-swiping a Perodua Viva.
He said he drove his van to help herd the cow towards the Elim Church at Jalan Chung Thye Phin located about 2km away.
"It took me more than an hour to guide the cow there," he said.
Once there, the cow was sedated by a cowherd before it was removed by Ipoh City Council enforcement personnel.
It is learnt the injured 74-year-old Singaporean tourist received outpatient treatment at Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital.

When contacted, Ipoh district police chief Asst Commissioner Sum Chang Keong confirmed the incident.
