I feel no impact. Totally diff category of the market.

Not impact unless freak incident where mm rental comes down to $1.3k.
Then people currently renting room say $900 may start to feel backside itchy to pay abit more for privacy and facilities.
But again only when freak accident occurs. :D

The quantum for both HDB apt with 3 bedrooms & MM are the same now.
If a single S'porean has these 2 options, which is a wiser choice?

Single tenant would obviously choose a mm unit..
Better environment, gym n pool facilities, etc...
One of my friend hdb is in process of being repossessed by hdb.
he rented to Vietnam couple but the couple turn it into a brothel and cid went to burst the operation:D
for a decent tenant, they prefer quality living...those want to make quick buck like sub rent or brothel, then the better deal the better, no security, customers can go in and out undetected:D
now every month must services 2 loan

Still different, assume $2K per month for MM, and $2K per month for HDB with 3 rooms with each room say ~$700, still a big margin for a single to rent MM.
For someone who can afford 2k, why would he or she rent a hdb room?
