Over 1,000 apply for Ecopolitan's 512 units
By Mindy Tan
ECOPOLITAN has been subscribed by two times, making it the executive condominium (EC) to receive the highest number of applications this year.
The 512-unit EC by Qingjian Realty (South Pacific) attracted more than 1,000 applications over the last 10 days, supported by its prime location and a feature called CoSpace.
CoSpace, which allows homebuyers to combine the utility and study room to suit their lifestyle needs, is offered in 208 units of the EC.
"Punggol has undergone a steady transformation since being earmarked for redevelopment under Housing Development Board's 'Remaking our Heartlands' programme in 2007," said Li Jun, general manager of Qingjian Realty.
"Since Qingjian's first EC project in Punggol in 2008, we have developed a profound understanding of the Punggol community and the needs of our residents over the years. Our previous two EC developments in Punggol, namely River Parc Residence and Waterbay, were also two times over-subscribed when they were first launched and both projects are now fully sold."
According to Qingjian, about 40 per cent of the applicants were from the Punggol, Sengkang and Hougang areas.
First-time buyers constituted about three out of 10 applicants.
Bookings for Ecopolitan will open on Aug 3.
"The EC market has been very healthy and stable in the past three years. Building on our expertise and experience, as well as driven by our passion to provide quality and innovative products to the market, we will continue to cater to the needs of the mass market," said Mr Li.
